Happy Grandparents Day!
Today's post was written by our guest blogger, Elizabeth Butler.....
Happy Grandparent's Day to my dear grandparents! I am the luckiest little girl in the world to have so many people that love me so very much! Thanks for everything you do for me and mommy and daddy. We couldn't make it without your generous love and support-especially in the last year!
PaPa, Davis and Karen were in town this weekend and I really
impressed them with my new "foot in mouth" trick and my gift of gab (well more like coo and shriek but you get the idea). My first ever trip to the beach is coming up very soon so stay tuned for some pics and stories later in the week. I finally get to show off those adorable swimsuits SuSu got for me earlier this summer. I think I feel a few teeth coming in so hopefully that won't affect our good time.
Last weekend Grandma and Papa were in town for the Bama game and Papa "oriented" me in Bama Fever. I think houndstooth is a good look for me, don't you?

Elizabeth is spending some time in Atlanta this week with her Grandma and Papa and visiting with her Fun Aunt Leslie and Crazy Uncle Rob (who we heard recieved a special gift from little E on Saturday). As you can see, she is having a great time (already reading the AJC...very impressive!).

Also, I recently discovered an awesome blog that lists the best weekly deals on baby essentials (diapers, formula, etc.). I thought some of you might find it helpful!

Finally, random but funny story. Craig and I took Bagger for a walk this afternoon and I noticed a big green and yellow parrot hanging out on the railing of a neighbor's front porch. We stopped to stare and the parrot started squawking and talking (I am not exagerrating). I asked a kid riding his bike if the family that lived there had a parrot and he said that they do and that he hangs out on the front porch all the time. I wish we had a photo to go with the story...

First "Swim"
Thursday, August 9, 2007
A co-worker sent this to me earlier in the week and it was very relevant because i have had a little "road rage" due to the back to school traffic nightmares every morning and evening. It helped put things back into perspective...Enjoy!
The ' L I T T L E ' Things .
As you might know, the head of a company survived
9/11 because his son started kindergarten.
Another fellow was alive because it was
his turn to bring donuts.
One woman was late because her
alarm clock didn't go off in time.
One was late because of being stuck on the NJ Turnpike
because of an auto accident.
One of them missed his bus.
One spilled food on her clothes and had to take
time to change.
One's car wouldn't start.
One went back to answer the telephone
One had a child that dawdled
and didn't get ready as soon as he should have.
One couldn't get a taxi.
The one that struck me was the man
who put on a new pair of shoes that morning,
took the various means to get to work
but before he got there, he developed
a blister on his foot.
He stopped at a drugstore to buy a Band-Aid.
That is why he is alive today.
Now when I am stuck in traffic ,
miss an elevator, turn back to answer a ringing telephone .
all the little things that annoy me.
I think to myself, this is exactly where
God wants me to be at this very moment..
Next time your morning seems to be
going wrong ,the children are slow getting dressed,
you can't seem to find the car keys,
you hit every traffic light,
don't get mad or frustrated; It may be just that
God is at work watching over you.
May God continue to bless you
with all those annoying little things
and may you remember their possible purpose.

August
Wow! We can hardly believe how FAST Elizabeth is growing. She is rolling over EVERY time we lay her down and will be sitting up alone very soon. We will likely be starting one meal a day on solids. She is busting out of 3-6 month onesies because she is so long and she just officially moved up to size 2 diapers (ask me why today made it official and I'll show you the lovely brown spot on my white pants). Anyway, probably more info than you wanted but it's my blog and a free forum for my thoughts is likely going to be a dangerous thing...
Mom took a french hand sewing class on Saturday and has started a gown for Elizabeth. I am so impressed with her skill and even more with her patience! Now if only we can coordinate her sewing progress with the church's
Enjoy these pictures from this weekend. Uncle Dave got his first huge grin and giggle from Elizabeth Friday night and was so overwhelmed with emotion I almost shed a tear! As you can see, she is always the center of attention and is already eating it up. If you want copies of any of these, let me know and I'll upload them to walmart.com or shutterfly.
Have a great week!
